We are going to have a look at 10 famous people who didn’t get good grades in school. These people have proved to the world that success can’t only be achieved through education. It is just a matter having passion towards what you want to achieve, working towards it and never give up. When it comes to success education is one of the keys but there are other many keys to success.

  1. Elton John

The English singer left school at the age of 17 prior to his A level examinations to pursue his music career. Since then the rockstar has had a successful music career winning many awards and he is among the multimillionaires in Britain. He also founded Elton John foundation which fights against Aids and has risen over $200 million.

9. Sarah Millican

The comedian has appeared on many panel shows. Sarah Milican failed her A-level examinations getting E’s and D’s but that was not her end. Currently she is a radio presenter in BBC and a TV personality.

The Hollywood filmmaker dropped out of college and started hustling by doing various job including becoming a truck driver. James had interest in film making so he would go the library to read more about fictional writing. His debut film was Xenogenesis. He later on directed great films like The Terminator, True Lies and others. The director has had an impressive career as his Titanic and Avatar films are the two highest-grossing films of all time at a total of over $4billion

Clare Balding is one of the best broadcasters in the UK. Her life story is inspirational. She was rejected at three universities; Cambridge, Bristol and Exeter three times but she never gave up .She kept trying until she was able to finish her course in Cambridge.

The actress who came to spotlight in the 90’s after her acting role in the film “The Mask”. Cameroon Diaz has proved to be one of the great actresses despite of dropping out of school at the age of 16.Diaz would pursue modelling before settling on acting. In 2015 she became the third highest US domestic box office grossing actress. This was after her films grossing over $3 billion in the US domestic box office.

Richard Branson dropped out of school at the age of 16 to start a magazine called Student. Later on he founded Virgin Records, which would expand to Virgin chain stores then Virgin Group over the years .Virgin group which is an amalgamation of hundreds of companies over the world, also includes Virgin Atlantic Airlines worth $6 billion. When interviewed about his school life Richard said that his headmaster in high school told him that is either he ends up in prison or become a millionaire Today, Richard Branson is a Billionaire.

Steve was an entrepreneur and co-founder of Apple computer. He is known for revolutionizing personal computers in the 70’s.He was raised by foster parents, he graduated from high and joined college. Where he dropped out after one semester, to seek his interests .Later on he invested in Pixar and founded nexT. He died a Billionaire.

For those who grew up watching animated films the likes of Mickey Mouse, am sure you are familiar with Disneyland and Walt Disney. Walt Disney is the pioneer of animated films in America. Walt used to perform poorly in exams because he would fall asleep during classes. Surprisingly those poor grades didn’t bother him as he attended an Art institute to perfect his cartoon skills. Though he died a half century ago Disney world still thrives.

To those who failed Maths remember you aren’t alone. The founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates was once labelled as a poor student. During his time in high school Gates didn’t perform well in Maths, he was excused from attending Maths classes. He dropped out of school in Harvard to achieve his dream of establishing a software company. Today Microsoft is the world’s largest software company and Gates is the second richest person in the world.

John Rockefeller is considered to have been the wealthiest American who ever lived though he died over a century ago. He used ran a business empire so vast no man has managed to surpassed its founder. Rockefeller dropped out of high school at age of 14 to attend a business college. After college that is at 16 he started his career as assistant booker and years later he founded multibillion Standard Oil Company.
